Built for Aquacycl
Spec work · Already built · Use it, abuse it

I spent the last 72 hours building Aquacycl a complete acquisition system — the one thing a Series A wastewater company expanding into Europe doesn't have.

No paid ads. No retargeting. A 16-step assessment that ends in a dead end. And a closest competitor with 15x your funding. I didn't write you a memo about it. I built the fix. It's all below — and it's live, click through it.

Before the deliverables

Four things I noticed before I built anything.

I went through your entire acquisition footprint the way a buyer would — your site, your assessment funnel end to end, your ad libraries, your competitors, and what happens when someone asks AI about your category.

01

Aquacycl has a presence system, not an acquisition system.

Strong brand, real technology, a PepsiCo partnership verified on PepsiCo's own site, an Earthshot Prize finalist badge. But the growth engine behind it is trade shows, outbound, and founder relationships. I checked the Meta Ad Library and the Google Ads Transparency Center. Nothing. A Series A company entering Europe is scaling on booth traffic alone.

And you already feel it: the January 2026 posting for a Revenue Operations Analyst in Escondido. The org is hiring for the exact gap this page is about.
02

Nobody in your category runs a modern funnel. Not even Cambrian.

Cambrian Innovation has roughly $237M raised to your ~$15M, logos like AB InBev and Keurig Dr Pepper, NASA and DoD partnerships. You cannot win a spending war with them. Here's the thing though: their call to action is a generic "get in touch" form and an info@ inbox. So is everyone else's in industrial wastewater. The entire category sells through contact forms and trade show booths. Whoever builds the first real acquisition layer wins the attention game by default — and it's cheap to be first.

03

Your best leads answer 16 questions and get silence.

I completed your wastewater assessment end to end. The questions are genuinely good — budget range, cost factors, purchase likelihood. It's a sales team's dream dataset. Then I hit submit, and this is what your highest-intent prospect sees:

The dead zone, captured live

Everything below is the entire post-submission experience. No scheduler. No next steps. No due-diligence content. No reason to act now.

aquacycl.com/wastewater-assessment — after submit
"Thanks for submitting our wastewater assessment! Be on the lookout for your results and additional content in your inbox."
↓ then, immediately: the site footer. Nothing else.
No calendar. No next step. No proof. No reason to act now.

A prospect who just told you they spend $20K–$100K a month on wastewater and are highly likely to explore new treatment gets one line and silence. The moment of peak interest is monetized at zero.

04

The objection you're already forming: "We're a science company, not a marketing company."

This system doesn't replace relationships or trade shows — it catches the demand you already generate and stops you from paying for it twice. You pay for the booth, the flight, the follow-up email... and then the lead goes cold because nothing exists between "nice meeting you" and the next touch. Your CEO already said it best herself:

"Stop pitching the tech and focus on the real-world problem you're solving for each stakeholder. People care about their specific pain points, not the science behind your cool widget." — Orianna Bretschger, Co-Founder & CEO, Aquacycl (Coffee with a Founder podcast, July 2025)

That's exactly what this system does — at scale, automatically, for every lead your current motion already produces.

The maths

What the leaks cost, in plain numbers.

These are models built on stated assumptions — the kind we'd verify together on a first call. The point isn't precision. The point is that the leaks are structural, not hypothetical.

0%
of assessment completers can book a call today. There is no scheduler anywhere in the flow — the "conversion" is an email promise.
20–40%
of high-intent assessment completers typically book when a scheduler sits at the end of the flow (assumption to verify on the call).
10–20
booked calls per month from just 50 monthly assessment completers — calls that currently evaporate at the exact moment of peak intent.
Second leak, same logic: the vast majority of site visitors leave without converting, and there is no retargeting layer to catch them. A modest recovery program on even a few thousand monthly visitors re-engages the exact companies already researching on-site treatment — the warmest audience that exists. Every number here is an assumption we'll pressure-test together. The structural gap is not an assumption. I walked the funnel.
So instead of explaining it, I built it

Six deliverables. Finished. Live. Click any of them.

These aren't mockups or descriptions. They're working pages built for Aquacycl's motion. Click a card and the actual deliverable opens right here — walk through it the way your leads would.

Assessment 2.0 — the funnel, rebuilt

Same qualifying power, a fraction of the friction. 16 steps → 6, value delivered mid-flow, scheduler embedded at the final step so submit becomes a booked call.

The confirmation page that sells the call

The dead zone becomes the highest-leverage page in the funnel. What-happens-next video, breakout objection videos, proof stack at peak interest, one repeated CTA.

Who built this

The receipts.

You should not take marketing advice from someone who can't show you their own. Verify everything below before we ever get on a call.

The ask

A 20-minute call. No plan and no price on it.

Just whether this model is real for Aquacycl. If it's real, the plan comes on the second call. Either way, everything on this page is yours — use it, abuse it, with or without me.
